Lab 1 - Create your homepage
Instructions: Check Assignments->Lab 1 HTML
for the due date.
But here are the general instructions
You are required to write your own HTML code in Visual Studio Code (opens in a new tab), leveraging the setup and the repo that we obtained in lab 0.
Requirements
Using the lab0 project that you created in VS Code, first create a folder named lab1
.
Then create a page named index.html
that will be your personal homepage.
On your personal homepage, include the following information:
- Your name and one of your pictures
- A description of yourself in a couple of sentences
- Your major(s) and concentration(s)
- A list of undergraduate or graduate classes you have taken
- A list of at least two course or research projects
- each should have a brief description and screenshot
- A ranked list of your top five favorite websites, (or links to albums, books, movies etc).
- Something else that you find interesting or like to talk about (it can be a hobby, show, passion, other interest, etc)
Submissions instructions
- Save your information in
lab1/index.html
. - Validate your HTML file via https://validator.w3.org (opens in a new tab).
- Once validated, sync your changes to your comp127 repo and deploy your changes to cloudflare by syncing your personal fork of the comp127 repo, make sure it is accessible by others. (If you forgot these steps, please refer back to Lab 0)
After you log in to Canvas, click Collaborations on the left column and add a google docs file with your name.
This document should have the public web link for your home page as well as links to your reports including weekly status reports, the project proposal, the project design report, and the final report.
For example, a student named Joe Smith would create a collaboration page by clicking Collaborations on the left-hand column:
